What is Osteopathy?
Osteopathy is a natural therapy and treatment philosophy. Osteopathic manual practice uses hands-on techniques to restore mobility and proper biomechanical and physiological function to joints, muscles and fascia, and to the vascular, digestive, circulatory, and nervous systems.
Osteopathic treatment seeks to achieve optimal function of the body’s systems using a gentle hands-on approach to detect and improve restricted movement. It is suitable for all ages, from birth onwards.
What happens during an initial visit?
The initial visit will involve posture screening, evaluating joint range of motion, discussing health history, and a treatment. Treatment may include myofascial release, joint manipulations, cranio-sacral techniques, and home care exercises. Osteopathy is a gentle, hands-on approach, suitable for all ages. The goal is to facilitate health and optimize systemic function using the various hands-on techniques for the musculoskeletal system and other associated conditions that arise due to dysfunction through the body.
